We are grateful to have had another year to serve you all.
In rereading the Thanksgiving history, we realize there are multiple versions as history has a way of constantly being revised.
The central theme in many cultures remains, however.
Survival.
It means stopping after the harvest season and giving thanks both to God and our fellow man for another year in which we have been provided for.
Many of you may recall learning about a story of the early pilgrim settlers coming together with the Wampanoag Indians to celebrate this season after the Native Americans had been instrumental in their survival.
Whether accurate or not it is a great visual of how different cultures and people can come together for the greater good of each other. We are encouraged and thankful as we see many examples of this coming together in our local community.
