Have you ever been cooking in the kitchen when all of a sudden grease stains splatter or suddenly appear on your walls? It’s definitely an eye sore but how can it be removed effectively?
Honestly, the best store bought cleaning product for the job would have to be the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. This cleaning product works wonders. If you are into natural cleaning products, baking soda and distilled white vinegar removes grease nicely off of walls.
Here are other options you can try if your grease stains are really tough and hard to remove:
- Liquid Deglossers tend to break up the nasty greasy film. You may have to sand it down afterwards and paint after the deglosser is dry.
- Wash cloth with Dawn dishwashing soap. Add warm water, this goes a long way.
- Lysol Disinfecting Wipes
- Murphy’s oil soap and other grease removing products are also effective.

Let’s face it. Landscaping can literally drain your wallet faster than water going down a drain. It just adds up. Is there a way to do landscaping whether front yard, backyard or both on a budget? Believe it or not, you can. Here are some very useful tips that I found beneficial to our future landscaping endeavors and hopefully this will be an encouragement to you as well.
First, you need to keep in mind in order for this to work you need to have a lot of patience, planning, and hard working ethics. Here are some tips to follow in order to achieve a beautiful landscape on a budget:
- Study your lawn. Is it in good shape? If it is, then you are already one step ahead. If your lawn needs to be re-sodded, consider preparing the soil first. Finding out what’s best is key.
- If you are ready to add plants and shrubbery, go for the deals first at any local nursery. Look for plants that can easily be planted. Find out what is allowed in your area.
- Start your plants from seeds. Seeds only costs dollars and cents. If you have the patience, grow them indoors and then transplant them outdoors.
- Consider planting plants that can “spread” on their own. You can end up sharing with others.
- Save up rakes leaves and grass clippings for your own mulch.
- Scope out garage sales, etc. for tools to maintain the appearance of your landscape.
- Purchase smaller plants and trees. The larger ones tend to be on the expensive side.
Keeping these tips in mind may help you in your next landscaping project. Consider all the options available in order to save you money rather than getting a landscape that is not appealing to the eye.

Are you getting ready to start a painting project? Whatever room you will be completing it’s important to know the basics before getting started like what tools to use and how to prepare the room.
- First you want to choose the right colors for the room you will be painting. This will take a lot of thought process so be sure its the color or color combinations you desire before going forward. A paint test may be in the cards for you.
- Consider priming your walls before painting
- Calculate how much paint you will need to paint a single room.
- Use a paint roller and a variety of paint brush sizes to complete the paint job. (Paint Rollers are ideal for big painting surfaces such as ceilings etc.)
Before you get started completely, be sure to cover your work space with a tarp or newspaper or something that will protect the area from getting paint on it. Fore effective painting, consider covering up areas you do not want to get paint on with masking tape.
