Removing candle wax off of carpets

File:Candleburning.jpgHave you ever blown out a candle in one of your living areas and picked it up to move it or remove some of the wax?  Maybe in the process you accidentally drop the candle on the carpeted floor and wax flies all over.  Have you even been there?  It’s a nasty thing to clean up or is it?  There is actually a very effective way to remove wax off of surfaces especially carpeting without the added headaches.  It really works and quite well I must say.

All you need is…..

  • Paper towel
  • Iron

What to do….

  • Plug in the iron and wait until it’s extremely hot.  You can set it on the highest setting if applicable.
  • Lay paper towel on every inch of wax covered areas.
  • Iron right over the paper towels, you will see that the heat melts the wax back into the paper towel.

And that’s it! Super easy and very effective.  You will see no evidence of wax on your carpet.  It’s actually quite fun and a fun science experiment if you have kids.

*This also works great on wood furniture too.
