Remember how it felt when you purchased your boat and how glossy it appeared? You can maintain that glossy look through the years with a few simple steps.
- Give the boat a thorough wash from time to time. A high quality marine soap will do the trick. Other cleaning products could take the finish right off the boat and you of course do not want this.
- Give your boat’s hull and topsides a good waxing.
- Oxidize gelcoats
Be sure to clean, polish, wax, etc., your boat every two months to keep that new glossy appearance. Consistency is key.

If you have carpet or area rugs in your home, most likely you have discovered that it can be a challenge to keep odors away. So many of those carpet and rug deodorizer’s out there really claim to kill the odors but really they are just masking them. And the scents can be quite overwhelming. This also rings true if you have pets.
Is there a natural yet effective way to zap carpet and rug odor once and for all? Yes, you’d be amazed at how going the natural approach really pays off and really works. Here are some effective tips and ideas on naturally deodorizing your carpets and area rugs:
- 1 cup of baking soda with 1/2 cup of cornstarch. Sprinkle generously on your carpets and rugs. If you would like an added scent you can throw in herbal scents or essential oils. Even sprinkling lavender flowers from a garden into the mixture does an amazing job of deodorizing. Vacuum after two hours or so.
- For a quick and easy deodorizer without any added scents, try just simply sprinkling baking soda straight from the box over your rugs and carpet and let sit for up to an hour then vacuum. This works wonders alone.
I have personally found that baking soda eliminates odors off of carpets and rugs quickly yet effectively. Having a large dog I was desparate to eliminate those odors that would pop up from time to time. Using the natural approach is also safer and healthier for your family to breathe in.

One of the advantages of silk flowers and fake plants is that they never die. But keeping them clean and free from unsightly dust is the challenge. Here are some simple tips to help you maintain the look of your artificial house plants and flowers:
If you want easy methods but require more maintenance through time here are some simple tips:
- Dust with a feather duster
- Use a hair dryer. This can blow off dirt and dust
- Vacuuming is another quick method.
- Wipe down with a damp cloth. Consider using soapy water too.
Though these are quick and easy methods which may be perfect for last minute jobs if you are expecting company, you most certainly don’t want to make it a habit. Breaking the dirt and dust on a daily basis may be a cause for concern, especially if you have allergies.
Here are more effective methods but keep in mind you may have to open up your wallet for this one:
- Buy silk cleaning sprays
- Purchase a can of compressed air. This may work far better than the vacuum and blow dryer.
Hopefully, these tips have helped you if you are frustrated with your silk flowers and artificial plants.

What are the advantages of hiring a mover?
• It’s time saving

•It’s less physical stress on you.
• It’s smooth and hassle free
Disadvantages?
Hiring a mover is not cheap and depending on your budget may not be in the cards for your family at this time. And there are always concerns that the movers are reliable and trustworthy with your valuables.
If you opt to move yourself, there are definite advantages and disadvantages. You can save money but the physical aspect can be quite tiring and draining. If you have valuables, you don’t have to worry about movers handling them improperly so this is another plus if you choose to do it yourself.

If your kids are big fans of the Fresh Beat Band (okay, parents you know you might just be one too), hold your hats! The Fresh Beat Band is coming to town, yes to Jacksonville!
The Fresh Beat band is currently the hottest and most popular kids show on television right now. It’s supposedly geared specifically towards preschool aged children but the older ones, even adults are singing and dancing to their upbeat yet modern tunes.
The Fresh Beat Band just recently went on tour and their tickets have been selling like hotcakes. One parent stated that “it was like standing in line for tickets to a rock concert like Bon Jovi, etc, very hard to get” Wow, The Fresh Beat Band has most certainly made their mark attracting all ages. It seems as ever since they replaced the original “Marina” (drum playing red head), the band just soared. Does this have anything to do with the replacement? It is uncertain at this time.
Here are the offical details:

Home gutters are essential for a housing structure but it’s important that you clean it out from blocking proper water flow.

Always remember to use safety tips when standing on a latter to complete the job. If you are hestitant about cleaning them properly as a DIY project, consider hiring a professional that will thoroughly complete the job for you.
